Adrienne Overton Obituary

Adrienne Gregory Overton was born on August 26, 1933, in El Paso, Texas to the late Mary Elizabeth Asmann Delaney and Edward Delaney. She died in Malvern, Arkansas on August 26, 2023, her 90th birthday. She received her early education in Rogers, Arkansas, then moved with her family to Clearwater, Florida, where she graduated high school. She graduated from Florida State University in Tallahassee and began a teaching career that spanned 42 years. In 1954 she married Reverend Ray Gregory, a Methodist minister. He preceded her in death in 1989. After being widowed for 16 years, she marred Cletis Overton of Malvern, and they spent 11 wonderful years together prior to his death in 2016. Adrienne was a member of First United Methodist Church and was thankful for her many friends who made her welcome in Malvern.
She is survived by her three children, Raymond Robert Gregory, III of Malvern; Alice Anne Gregory Ulmer (Doug) of Live Oak, Florida; and Edward Delaney Gregory (Stephanie) of Fernandina Beach, Florida; three grandchildren, Raleigh Gregory, Lyndsay Ulmer and Lauren Ulmer; nieces, Susan Tanner and Rebecca White; nephew Ken White; great-nephews and -nieces, Will Tanner, Avaree Stiles and Aubree Stiles; step-children, Charles Overton, Kay Overton, Cecelia Overton, and Deborah Staples.
Adrienne was also preceded in death by three sisters, Patricia Delaney Stiles, Allison Delaney White, and Micki Delaney McGee.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 Thursday morning, September 7, 2023 in the chapel of J. A. Funk Funeral Home with Dr. J. Earl Coker officiating.

She will be interred next to her husband, Ray, in Homestead, Florida.
