Agnes Budd Obituary

Agnes Smith Budd
Longtime Darien resident Agnes Smith Budd passed away peacefully on August 16, 2025. Agnes was born on April 12, 1933, in Norwalk, Connecticut, to Agnes Katherine and Herbert Edward Smith. She attended Roger Ludlowe High School and the Northfield School for Girls before graduating with a B.A. from Hood College in 1955.
Agnes worked for Chemical Bank and the New York Trust Company before starting a family and moving to Darien in 1965. She was actively involved with The Junior League of Stamford-Norwalk and the American Cancer Society during her early years in town. She was also a longtime member of Wee Burn Country Club. Agnes spent most of her life as a loving wife, mother, friend, and grandmother. She was always especially kind to those in need of a helping hand.
Agnes was predeceased by her husband of 69 years, Macdonald Budd. She is survived by her sons, Mac (Elise) and Tony (Sabrina), and grandchildren Alexandra (Mike) Mastrocola, Vanessa, Daphne, Reid, Tucker, and McKenzie. A family service was held at Oak Lawn Cemetery on August 27.
