Agnes Bugg

1936 - 2022

BARTLESVILLE - Agnes Evaline Bugg, 85, of Bartlesville, went to her heavenly home on Friday, August 5, 2022.

Agnes was born August 27, 1936, in Galveston, Texas, to George and Julia Brown. She attended school in Austin, Texas, and then later in Big Spring, Texas, where she graduated high school. She spent some of her childhood years living with her Aunt Pauline, and attended some college classes in Odessa, Texas.

Agnes married George Bugg in 1953 in Texas and to that union five children were born. In their early years of marriage, George was in the military and the couple lived in various states. Throughout her life, Agnes lived in the Texas cities of Galveston, Austin, Big Springs and Odessa. She also lived in California for some time.

Agnes stayed home and cared for the family while the children were young. Before the children were born, she worked as a bookkeeper for a jewelry store, a job she returned to after the children started school. She later started selling insurance.

Her children remember Agnes sewing all their clothes. She was an excellent seamstress and also did alterations for people. She was a wonderful cook and the family has many happy memories of their Thanksgiving feasts. Agnes enjoyed gardening both vegetables and flowers. She also painted scenery in her spare time.

Agnes was community-minded and served as president of Beta Sigma Phi, president of Does with the Elks Lodge, and was Sweetheart of Beta Sigma Phi.

Agnes is survived by her five children, Lori Bratton and husband Barry, George Bugg and wife Trish, Rita Steinhart and husband Rob, Eric Bugg and wife Sharon, and Joe Bugg; her three brothers, Edwin Brown and wife Doris, Hugh Brown, and Will Robinson; ten grandchildren, Paul Mooney and wife Jenny, Jessica Bolton and husband Brodie, Lindsey Girard and husband Paul, Audrey Orenday and husband David, Antigone Nevill, Victoria Steinhart, Becca Steinhart, Ashleigh Bugg, Alex Bugg, and Joseph Bugg; thirteen great-grandchildren, Dylan, Lily, Trigger, Daniel, Gus, Zenna, Reese, Elle, Letty, Loly, Katlynn, Carson, and Ryan. In addition to her parents, Agnes was preceded in death by three siblings, George Brown, Marvin Brown, and Elaine Sanchez.

Agnes' family will receive friends at the Davis Family Funeral Home & Crematory - Walker Brown Chapel, 918-333-7665, 4201 Nowata Rd, Bartlesville, on Thursday, August 11, 2022, from 6-8 p.m. A come and go visitation will also be held on Thursday from 10-8.

Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Friday, August 12, 2022, at the Davis Family Funeral Home & Crematory - Walker Brown Chapel, with the Rev. Janis Lussmyer officiating. Interment will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Carter Davis and the Davis Family Funeral Home & Crematory - Walker Brown Chapel.
