Agnes K. (Rybczyk) Distefano, 95, of Middletown, beloved wife of Nicholas J. Distefano, passed away at Wadsworth Glen Health Care & Rehab Center on Sunday, November 30, 2025.
She was born in Middletown, the daughter of the late Peter and Helen (Mozdzierz) Rybczyk. Prior to her retirement Agnes was employed as an inspector with the Zygo Corporation. She was a Communicant of Saint Mary of Czestochowa Church, and an auxiliary member of the Catholic War Veterans'. She was an avid UConn Women's Basketball fan, wearing UConn gear for every game.
Agnes is survived by her daughter, Donna Distefano of Texas, sons, David Distefano of Middletown, Dennis Distefano of Middletown; two grandchildren and three great grandchildren, also several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sisters, Veronica Witkowski Ann Czepiel, Mary Bartolotta, Betty Drag; and brothers, Anthony, Stanley, Walter, and John Rybczyk.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 6, 2025, at 10 a.m. at Biega Funeral Home, 3 Silver St., Middletown. Friends may gather prior to the service from 9 to 10 a.m. Burial will be in the Connecticut State Veterans' Cemetery, 317 Bow Lane Middletown.
