Obituary of Agnes Mary Leinheiser
Agnes Mary Leinheiser
Agnes Mary (Kent) Leinheiser, 83, of
Ambler, PA passed away peacefully on Thursday, Christmas Day, 2025 and spent her first Christmas in heaven with her beloved husband, the late Daniel J. Leinheiser. She is the loving mother of Karen (Bill) Ryan of Ft. Washington and Michael (Katie) Leinheiser of Philadelphia. She will be greatly missed by her grandchildren: Jonathan (Allison) Leinheiser, Jennifer (Bryan) Hunt and Will Ryan, as well as her great-granddaughter Dakota.
Agnes was born in the Tacony section of Philadelphia on February 8, 1942, to the late Charles P. and Agnes S. (McElroy) Kent and is survived by her three siblings: Roseann (the late Robert) Boras of Philadelphia, Charles (Kate) Kent of Philadelphia, and Richard (Janet) Kent of Philadelphia, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who held a special place in her heart.
She had lived in Ambler at the Artman Lutheran Home for the last five years where she received the best care. Prior to that she lived in the Roxborough section of Philadelphia for 54 years with the greatest neighbors in the world, most of whom are her best friends.
Agnes was a member of St. Anthony of Padua RC Church of Ambler and a former member of Immaculate Heart of Mary (IHM) RC Church of the Andorra section of Philadelphia. She was a Homemaker who was devoted to raising her children before working outside the home with Lutheran Children and Family Services in Roslyn, Pa. as an administrative assistant.
Agnes was always looking for ways to help others. She volunteered her time with the Social Concerns Committee of IHM and then at St. Joseph's Villa for years after she retired. She enjoyed traveling with her husband Dan and she never turned down a chance to go out to dinner with family or friends. She also loved the Jersey shore and treated her family every summer to a week in Sea Isle where she enabled them to create lasting memories with her. But the thing she enjoyed most was spending time with her grandchildren. She loved watching them grow and succeed and did everything she could to help them.
Her faith was her greatest strength and the love she had for her family was limitless. That will be her lasting legacy.
Her Funeral Mass will be held Friday, January 2, 2026 at 10:30 AM from St. Anthony of Padua Church, 259 Forest Avenue,
Ambler, PA.
There will be a viewing at the church prior the mass from 9:15 AM to 10:15 AM.
