Aunt Agnes was an extraordinary woman whose life had a profound influence on so many. The world is a much better place because of Agnes McCartney. Her children and their families are a sterling example of her love and devotion. We send our love and deepest sympathy to her family.

At this time of sorrow, I want to celebrate the remarkable and full life of Aunt Agnes. She was a model to me for her civic activism and enthusiasm and for her devotion to her Family.

Pattie- Sorry to read about the loss of your Mother. We will always remember the great things she did for Jim Thorpe and the Valley. I still have the pictures of the cruise my Mother, Helen, Anna, and the girls took to the Mediterranean in1966. We are thinking of you and all your family. Jim & Sue James,Bradenton, FL

While growing up in Jim Thorpe, Mrs. McCartney was donned an icon. I truly believed that she was famous. In her own right, she was. We should remember her for making Historic Jim Thorpe what it is today. God Bless.

Aunt Agnes was a formidable woman who did great things for her family (and anyone who knew her was family) and put Jim Thorpe, Pa. on the map. She will be missed.

As one Agnes' grandsons-in law (married to Margee Dotter, the older daughter of Patty), it was an honor to become a member of her extended family and to have gotten to know her in recent years. I think she was as proud of me as my own grandmother is!
