Agnes Sarah (Hellmer) Moore, 87 of Gaylord, passed away Sunday, January 26, 2025, at McReynolds Hall. Born September 14, 1937, in Detroit, the daughter of Martin and Agnes (Coutcher) Hellmer.
On February 2, 1953, in Detroit, Agnes married the love of her life, Frank Moore. They raised 5 wonderful children and created a beautiful life together. They also raised 22 boys from Vietnam. For many years, Agnes owned and operated Gaylord Floor Covering in Gaylord. One of her greatest accomplishments was starting the Thanksgiving Community Dinner in Gaylord. She was a member of St. Mary Cathedral, where she was a catechism teacher for many years and was past reign of Daughters of Isabella Rosary. She volunteered at McReynolds Hall and at Otsego Memorial Hospital.
She is survived by her children, Francine (Edward) Nizienski, Frank (Lynda) Moore, Martina Matelski, and Nikki (Timothy) Kucharek; grandchildren, Sarah, Dennis, Marie, Katherine, Casey, John, Frank, Jenni, Jaci, Kari, Javis, Kyle, Bennie, Angie, Terrance, Barb, James, Jessie, Martin, and Erin; great-grandchildren, Kegan, Kyle, Kameron, Chelsey, Kwintin, Rylie, Lincoln, Gavin, Grace, Declan, Hayzl, Killian, Blake, Nicholas, Alivia, Kelsey, Phoenix-Rain, Reese, Colton, Konner, Noah and Jax; great-great grandchildren, Leo and Anastasia; special children by choice, Tinh and Missy Nguyen, Tho and Sofia Nguyen, Hoa and Ann Luc, Hai Luc, Tu and Tran, Dung and Thanh, Lance Long and Lieu Troung, Hiep and Hop Nguyen, Tinh Nguyen and Tien Huynh; grandchildren by choice, Kimberly, Brandon, Brook, Chantel, Bram, Cameron, Lilly, Angel, Anna, Milan and Mitchell.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank; her parents, Martin and Agnes Hellmer; a daughter, Maeann E.J. Moore; son-in-law, Stanley Matelski; daughter-in-law, Barbara Moore; siblings, George Hellmer, Sybilla Ray and David Hellmer; brother-in-law, Herman Ray; and special daughter by choice, Ha Huynh.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place 11:00 AM Friday, February 7, 2025, at St. Mary Cathedral where the family will visit with friends beginning at 9:00 AM. Burial will take place in the spring at Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Gaylord St. Mary School.
