One of the first people I made friends with when I moved to Lavallette and went to St. Pio's was Agnes. I used to sit behind her every week. I marveled at her beautiful hair, those sparkly eyes, her friendly and genuine smile. I only now have found out about her passing. I will remember her always, with love...

She John Sheila and Kathleen is with great sadness that I hear of your mother's passing you know she was a very important part of my my grandmother and my father's lives for many many years before we ever wear around.
She was truly the matriarch of our family Binding Together love creativity and just all-around Majestic Beauty I enjoyed her long long hair that she kept braided I'll never forget the first time I saw her try. I was working at the West Willowbrook mall and she come walking down the hot download walkway that's like what are you doing here. She looked over at me and she goes I drove here I see what you drove what do you mean you drove so I didn't know you drove she said yeah that's my car right there pointed to that shiny car sitting over in the parking lot and said she parked in the back to the house didn't even know there was a garage back there hahaha.
So I just like to extend my condolences to all of your family and all those whose life she meant so much to may God bless you and hold you tight within his arms and then this is now at peace with your friend take care of all of you and love one another amen amen.

We met her 20 years ago, at OBSC1. She welcomed us with a warm smile; introduced us to everyone she knew and she knew everyone! She shared stories about all the people who used to live in each bungalow and I was amazed at how she could remember them all. She watched a lot of families come and go and a lot of kids grow up in that wonderful beach community she called home. She truly made us feel welcome.

Agnes would sit at the beach (a landmark) with a book in hand or a ball of yarn making something for her grandchildren/great grandchildren or the preemie babies at the hospital. Peeking out from under her straw hat, she would call me by name to give me a warm hello and ask about my family and then we would end up sitting together and chatting. There was something about her that reminded me of Audrey Hepburn as she sat there reading her book, with her hair swept up in a bun, wearing her big straw hat.

I recall many times seeing Agnes and Fran watching the moon rise over the ocean after having a full day at the beach with their family, enjoying the lazy days of summer. It was wonderful to see them; always surrounded by their loving family. I remember telling Don that I hoped that would be us one day.

A woman of great faith; Agnes now sits with the angels. She has left behind a lot of love and memories shared with her friends and family at OBSC1 and she will surely be missed. I hope those wonderful memories will soon soften the heartache her family suffers today and I want them to know how happy I was to have known her.
