Agnes Watts Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by DeBaun Funeral Homes & Crematory - Springhill Chapel on Jul. 20, 2024.
Agnes Francine Watts, 97, of Farmersburg, IN passed peacefully into the loving arms of her Savior on Thursday, July 18, 2024.
She was born on May 15, 1927 in Sullivan County, IN to Denver Drake and Lula Pound Drake. Francine grew up near Fairbanks, IN and graduated from Fairbanks High School in 1945. She then attended and graduated from Indiana University, Bloomington in 1949.
Francine was a homemaker and faithful church member at Fairbanks Baptist Church for many years until her advanced age prevented her from attending services.
Francine enjoyed scholarly pursuits, especially in-depth Bible study. The ladies' Sunday School class at her church learned more about the Word as she shared what she had discovered each week, and when she spoke about a passage, each person leaned in to hear what the Lord had taught her in her personal study. Her Scriptural insights will be missed, and her diligence will continue to bear much fruit.
Ever the consummate mother, she devoted her life to her children and grandchildren. She faithfully saw to it that her special needs child, Donna, was cared for and provided for in abundance. Francine often spoke of her daughter's caregivers with delight and affection and was truly thankful for their demonstrated love for her special child.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Robert L. Watts.
Surviving to cherish her memory are her two daughters, Donna Watts of Farmersburg and Anita Barnhart (Kurt) of Biscoe, NC; her two beloved grandchildren Isaac Barnhart (Claire) of Champaign, IL and Evelyn Barnhart of Greensboro, NC; a precious great-granddaughter, Ruby Barnhart; one sister-in-law, Sondra McCain of Terre Haute; and several beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A Celebration of Life service will be held August 10, 2024 at Fairbanks Baptist Church, 6743 West County Road 800N, Fairbanks, IN with Pastor Cody Eaton officiating. The family will receive family and friends beginning at 2 pm, followed by a service at 3pm and a short graveside service at Pogue Cemetery thereafter. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Fairbanks Baptist Church.
