Aileen Gibson

Aileen Gibson, age 90, passed away on May 9, 2009 at Copper Mountain Inn in Globe, AZ where she lived for almost 5 years. She was born in Thatcher, AZ to Joseph and Jennie Phillips. She grew up and lived in Miami, AZ her whole life. Aileen was a devoted wife and mother preceded in death by her husband Edward and left behind her daughter Darlene Burt of South Jordan, Utah, her son Frank(Shirley) and her brother Reed Phillips of Central Heights, AZ as well as 8 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, many great great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was an active member of the LDS Church and was the secretary of the Relief Society for 17 years.

One of her many talents was baking chocolate love-light cakes and always had standing orders for them. Once she was given a dollar and told to increase her talents to make money for a building project which she did by baking a lot of cakes then turned the money gained from them in as her contribution to the church.

Aileen loved her family and supported them in all their activities. She will be missed by those who knew her and will live in our hearts always.

The visitation is on May 14 at 5:00 pm at Lamont Mortuary Chapel. The funeral services will be held privately. The family suggests donations be made to:
