I know it's a little late coming - but I just found out Aileen passed away. I am so so sorry for your loss -- I worked for many years with Aileen at Bear Stears and visited her in Cranford when Blathnaid was small and kept in touch with Christmas cards. May God be watching over her. May her children and loved ones be comforted by all your wonderful memories. Lynn Osborn

My prayer go out to Aileen's family. She and the kids became my neighbors four years ago. Not a day went by without an offer of some kind of help. Aileen made sure management of the complex was aware of problems. She was a great mother, endlessly proud of Bee, Danny and Fiona. She was a dynamo, and she will be dearly missed.

I'm so sorry to the family of such a beautiful, happy, and dedicated mother. Aileen was one my first friends when I moved to Fanwood. Our kids went to the same preschool. She was so dedicated and so in love with her children. I loved the way she supported there sports, constantly played and messed around with her kids. We had many fun playdates at each others houses. She was always so kind, generous and just a playful, happy soul. We will all miss you dearly. Praying for you and your family. I will always have happy memories of our time together. Just like many others you always made us smile. Hugs and kisses to you. May you rest in peace. May your beautiful three children and family find peace. Xxxx

Today I spent time in Hazelwood, 'half moon bay', a place which never left your heart, and prayed for your dearly beloved children, Bláthnaid, Fíona and Danny, for Dennis, for your Dad, Brendon and his family, and for all of us who have loved you and have very heavy hearts at this terribly difficult time.

Aileen, you were such a special part of our family - ever since I can remember you were apart of our family - courtesy of yourself and our sister Sinéad being 'Best Friends', but you were both much more than that. You were one of the 'O' Connors'. You were a piece in our family jigsaw - which in this life - will leave a void that will be forever heavy on our hearts, but we will always carry on your memory, our cherished moments of love, laughter, and madness! You and your beloved children are in our family albums in 'St.Evin', apart of us, and that will never change.

'Perhaps they are not stars, but rather openings in Heaven where the love of our lost ones pours through and shines down upon us to let us know they are happy'.

You'll have a special place in my heart always Aileen, Sarah x

I can't believe you're gone. I thought we'd have many more years together because I thought you had this cancer beat.

We have so much history and so many memories from childhood holidays and sleepovers, St. Patrick's Day Parades, playing with all our cousins on so many holidays.

The block parties with everyone and the silly things we did that I don't believe our parents knew about.

All the nights of fun in Manhattan and Hoboken in our twenties, I still laugh about.

Then your wedding dress hunt, the quickest decision any bride made on a dress! I will never forget you becoming a bridezilla the day before your wedding...wanting everything perfect...you planned it so well, despite your nerves of wanting everything perfect.

Planning your suprise bridal shower was fun, then your 30th birthday party...I was laughing at our photos through the tears 2 days ago along with our Jets and Dolphins Football game photos.

Then Blathnaid arriving 9 and a half months after Patrick and us celebrating our first mother's Day together.

I will miss you and your laughter, especially after you annoying me on purpose so many times for your entertainment your whole life. Celebrating our Communions and Confirmations together.

We had so much fun at Aunt Anne's growing up, outside playing with all our cousins, those memories will remain with us all and the great meals Anne prepared and the sleepovers there, were great fun as well, especially with little Paul.

You and Dave have the most beautiful kids who are smart and will go far in life. I will be there to guide him if he needs to call for help with the girls or Danny.

Till we meet again. I love you and miss you so much the last few days.

I am so disappointed you couldn't celebrate after all the treatment and will miss seeing you this summer. I will think of you daily and I know you are in peace and with both our Moms, Grandparents, Uncles and cousins who left us far too soon.

Ray and I have known Aileen for about 20 years. We knew her when she was a young woman working on Wall Street. We knew her as a young woman dating and coming home at 2 in the morning blasting her stereo. Ray niknamed her boom boom. And we always thought of her as Aileen boom boom Gilroy! She got married and had three amazing children. They were her world and she was involved in everything that they did.

Aileen was smart and pretty, a
very natural beauty. She was a fantastic mother and fiercely loyal to everyone she knew and loved. She will be missed by people like Ray and me, Dennis, her children and those closest to her.
We love you Aileen and will think of you as an angel watching over us. That fierce Irish angel with the green wings.
Your broken hearted friends, Ray and Lillian xoxo
