I was a child and adolescent resident at UVa under Dr. Mattsson. He was a wonderful, kind, and engaging mentor...a brilliant man who taught his fellows to be compassionate and curious child and adolescent psychiatrist. I always enjoyed seeing him at meeings. I will hold the best of him in my memories. I did not learn of his death until last night...deepest sympathy to all his loved ones.

It's Pierre Ames, and I work the front desk at the Watergate on weekends. I didn't know Dr. Mattsson, but met you over the weekend, and the crowd of support that filled the courtyard for his service. I'd like to offer my condolences. My prayers are with and you and your family.
