Akitada Uchida

Akitada "Aki" Uchida, age 99, of Honolulu, Hawaii, passed away on Monday, May 26, 2025, in Honolulu.
He was the fourth son (of seven) who grew up in Kalihi and graduated from Farrington High School in 1944.
Aki was a successful sole proprietor of Aki's Auto Supply, selling automotive products to service stations, and later became part owner of Wilkinson Distributing Company.
Aki worked hard to provide for his cherished family. He was most proud of his family – beloved wife Yvonne of 73 years; three children Sherri, Derek, Lance and their families.
He was a terrific father. When his children were young, he and Yvonne would have an adventure nearly every week - - - swimming at the beach, looking for puka shells, fishing and much more. Aki was always quick to smile, generous to others, an optimist and a kind person.
Aki is survived by wife Yvonne; daughter Sherri Aoyama (Ron); sons Dr. Derek Uchida (Dr. Barbara Chatfield, deceased) and Lance Uchida (Melanie); nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brother George (Myra); numerous nieces and nephews.
Our family decided there will be no funeral service and will not accept monetary (koden) offerings. Thank you for your understanding. Instead, we hope you will help us celebrate Dad's long life by remembering the good times we had together as a family and enjoy your life.
