I am so sorry for your loss. Alan and I went to the same church when I was in elementary school. His mom was our teacher. My brother and I went every Sunday as she made the time special for us all. Alan was always making us laugh.

I apologize as I cannot figure out how to comment back on each post on here. But this is Al's daughter Breanna. Thank you to everyone who commented on here. For sharing such kind words and memories of my father. He will forever be missed as I was a daddy's girl.

Al and I shared a desk together at Brighton NC Machine for around a year and a half. He and I hit it off as soon as we were placed together. He was simply a conduit for honesty and realistic conversation. Both of us were extremely busy the entire time we worked alongside one another, yet he was always able to find an excuse to get me laughing and poke fun at the day.

He was and will always be my friend. His smile, laugh, sarcasm and warm personality is impossible to emulate. It took me days to begin mourning his passing, and now that I can cry for him I fear I'll never be able to stop. Yet, knowing Al, he would surely tell me to cry harder and get it out of my system while it still matters, and he'd probably pat me on the back as I did so if he could. He just had a way of tuning into people and bringing out their best even through the worst of times.

Al was an excellent teacher and very personable. He often shared stories of traveling extensively for former jobs. Painted mental pictures of what it was like coming up at a younger age in and around Detroit. Played songs that he and his Daughter loved every day at work and shared hilarious stories of what it was like to sing and perform live music in a band.

My favorite memory of Al involves he and I in the front seats of his Focus ST, (my brother in the back seat) on the way back in after lunch. Al put the pedal down and my brother couldn't handle it; Al and I laughed all the way back to the office and continued laughing like little girls for the rest of the day. I regret never taking a ride in his Mustang.

Al, I'm sorry I never made it out to the city to reconnect. I'll miss you buddy.
Thank you for everything.

It seems like just yesterday we were out by the garage talking about cars. I will sure miss those days where time would get away from us and either Renee or Crystal would come looking for one of us as we got lost in conversation for what seemed like hours.

You greeted us into the neighborhood with open arms and I still laugh when I think of the first time I had asked if you enjoyed your Focus ST. Your response was simply "Is the Pope Catholic?" Thanks for everything, we will all be missing you and your sense of humor!

Hey Buddy, I sure will miss working with you! You were a great friend and co-worker. I'm thinking of you in heaven, how great that must be. No diabetes, no bills, nothing to ever worry about again.

I know one day you will greet me with open arms as I too step into the kingdom of heaven. We will both share in the joy of no longer needing to test our blood, watch what we eat, and the whole darn issues of being diabetic.

I'll miss you until the end of my time here on earth.

Much love, Steve.
