Alainie Ann Mitchell Stevens went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, Following a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on July 13, 1959, in Fulton, New York, the town where she was raised.
Alainie is survived by her husband, Denny Stevens; daughters Kelly Ekardt (husband Julius) and Jana Myers (husband Jeremy); grandchildren: Brynn O'Riley, Edith Ekardt and Miles Myers; siblings Steven Mitchell and Leeland Mitchell. She is preceded in death by her parents, Lee Mitchell and Mary Mitchell, and her brother, Jonathan Mitchell.
Alainie will be remembered for her wit, her charm, and for her strong faith in Jesus. She had a beautiful singing voice, loved to teach, shared duties with her husband as pastors of Living Hope Fellowship, loved her family and her kitties. Her realized passions in life were leading corporate worship from the piano and teaching piano lessons to her students. She was a remarkable human being who would go out of her way to make you feel loved and accepted.
Alainie and Denny were to celebrate their 47th wedding anniversary next month.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, from 05:00 PM to 07:00 PM at Walnut Lawn Funeral Home 2001 West Walnut Lawn Street, Springfield, Missouri.
Funeral will be on Wednesday November 19, 2025 at 1:00P M at Walnut Lawn Funeral Home 2001 West Walnut Lawn Street, Springfield, Missouri.
Burial will follow at Pattersson Cemetery at 2:00 PM.
Care and arrangements are under the direction of Walnut Lawn Funeral Home, Ltd. – DeGraffenreid-Wood Crematory, Springfield, Missouri.
