Alan C. Barker, 88, of St. Louis, Missouri, passed away on December 5, 2025. Born on January 13, 1937, in St. Louis to Edmund and Dorothy Barker, Alan graduated from Clayton High School and Washington University and served in the Missouri Air National Guard and Air Force Reserve.

Alan married Judy Adler in 1961, and together they raised two children, Chuck Barker (wife Elizabeth) and Julie Barker Gruender (husband John). He was a devoted grandfather to Olivia Handler, Allison Handler, Sarah Barker Smith, and Emily Jo Wray.

A longtime insurance broker, Alan was also deeply committed to his faith and community. He served as an elder at Central Presbyterian Church and Kirk of the Hills Presbyterian Church and was one of the original founders of Westminster Christian Academy. Active and industrious, he was an avid cyclist, competitive badminton player, and skilled craftsman who loved restoring cars and tackling hands-on projects.

Alan was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Ann Niehaus. He is survived by his wife, Judy, and his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Friday, December 12 at 10:00 a.m., followed by an 11:00 a.m. service at Bopp Funeral Chapel, 10610 Manchester Road, Kirkwood, MO 63122. Memorial donations may be made to Westminster Christian Academy.
