I met Al way back in high days so it feels like he´s always been present in my life-a big, quiet man.

Lots going on beneath that quiet: a football player, working at the World´s Fair, a Navy submariner, a man who could fix anything.

And a steady,faithful and devoted husband to my sister Betsy and father to Scott.

I see a picture of him blissful at the wheel of his sailboat with his granddaughter Abby at his side, both looking excited to be on the water together. Such enviable contentment and joy!
