Alan Wayne Gracey

Alan Wayne Gracey, age 59 of Portage, died unexpectedly on April 5, 2022. He was a devoted husband of Kristi (Tejchma) Gracey, and father of Bryan Gracey. Alan was born on May 25, 1962, in Benton Harbor, MI, the son of Larry and Barbara (Tilford) Gracey. He graduated from Portage Central High School in 1980 and went on to pursue a career in nursing. Alan worked as a Registered Nurse for Bronson Methodist Hospital for over 25 years and worked part-time at Ascension Borgess Hospital. Alan was a devoted nurse who will be missed by many in the medical field.

Alan loved the outdoors, especially hunting and golfing, and was an avid University of Michigan Football fan. Alan was a wonderful husband to his wife Kristi, whom he loved to spoil every chance he had. The two were nearing their 25th wedding anniversary. Alan was the father every son dreamed of. Bryan remembers his father as being the one who believed in him when no one else did, being very funny and always putting a smile on his face. The world lost a caring, kind, and loving man who had an infectious smile and great laugh.

Alan is survived by his wife, Kristi (Tejchma) Gracey; son, Bryan Gracey; parents, Larry and Barbara Gracey; brother, Chris Gracey; niece, Chelsea (Devin) Farmwald; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Henry and Linda Tejchma; sister-in-law, Kelley (Kyle) Gorham; and nieces, Kyley and Kayley Gorham; brother-in-law, Jake (Manu) Tejchma; and nephew Tobin.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 9, 2022, at 1:00 p.m., with visitation one hour prior at Langeland Family Funeral Homes Burial & Cremation Services 411 E Centre Ave. Portage, MI 49002. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Portage VFW 8845 S. Sprinkle Rd. Portage, MI immediately following the memorial service.
