It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Alan Terry Ivins, who departed this life on September 21, 2025, in Wilmington, DE, at the age of 82. Born on October 2, 1942, in Wilmington, DE, he was the son of the late Rollison M. and Mollie (Williams) Ivins. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Betty.
Alan retired as a mechanic for Habersin-Walker Refractories and later worked as a security guard for Avon.A proud veteran of the U.S. Army, Alan was also an active member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), Elk Lodge 2281, Newark, DE and a lifetime member of the American Legion, demonstrating his commitment to serving his country and community throughout his life.
Alan is survived by his cherished nephews, James Mackeprang (Amber) of Rising Sun, MD, Matthew Mackeprang (Christine) of West Chester, PA, Mark Mackeprang (Angie) of North East, MD, and his long-time companion, Carolyn Rispoli of Wilmington, DE, all whom will remember him fondly and continue to honor his legacy.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at 11:00 am at Crouch Funeral Home P.A. , 127 South Main Street, North East, MD. A public viewing will take place beginning at 10:00 am until the service, providing friends and family an opportunity to pay their respects. Following the funeral service, Alan will be laid to rest at Bay View Cemetery, North East, MD with military honors.
Alan's unwavering spirit and dedication to his family, friends, and country will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His legacy of love and service will continue to inspire those left behind.
