Alan Rae Kaserman

age 85, of North Olmsted, Ohio passed away peacefully on September 26, 2025 surrounded by his loving family.
He is deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his devoted wife of 61 years Pauline (Petrash) Kaserman; his children Alan (Kathy) Kaserman, Kathy (David) Clolinger and Lori Kaserman; four grandchildren Amanda (Matt) Leininger, Alex (Priscilla) Kaserman, Maggie Clolinger and Mitch Clolinger; and five great-grandchildren Kiptyn, Vivian, Crew, Lawson, and Eli. He is the brother of Herman Kaserman and Doris (the late Don) Schmidt. He is the brother-in-law of the late Patricia (Jim) Martin, Peter (Jan) Petrash and Phyllis (Brian) Clymer. Alan's legacy of love, service and dedication to family will forever be etched in the hearts of those who knew and cherished him.
Born on May 30, 1940, in Cleveland, Ohio, Alan was the son of the late Herman and Rose Kaserman. At the age of five, he and his family moved to North Olmsted where they became active members of the community and operated several local businesses, including Kaserman's Drive-In and Kaserman's Hall, both staples of the area during the 1950s.
After serving honorably in the United States Army, Alan returned home and began a distinguished career as a firefighter and
paramedic for the City of North Olmsted. For over 30 years, he served his community with dedication, courage, and compassion, qualities that defined every aspect of his life. In addition to his public service, Alan co-founded the North Olmsted Lawn Mower Company on Lorain Road in the 1960s, which would later grow into the successful Adon Equipment.
In retirement, Alan found great joy in treasure hunting at antique and estate sales, often collecting and refurbishing unique items with care and craftsmanship. He had a keen eye for history and detail, and this passion brought him lasting friendships and fulfillment.
Alan loved to travel and especially enjoyed cruising with family and friends, creating lasting memories on the open seas. His greatest joy, however, was spending time with his family especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought endless pride and laughter to his days.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Clague Road United Church of Christ, 3650 Clague Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that memorial donations be made to Clague Road United Church of Christ.
