Always holding your family close in my heart. I worked with Al for many years and am reminded of him often. I share his podcast and spirit where ever I go in the schools. His memory and legacy of mental health advocacy and activism live on. Sending love.

Al contacted me on LinkedIn. He said "I want to do what you do!". I am a full time coach who had started my own biz in coaching for schools. Also we trained at the same coaching school (CTI). We met on zoom a few times. I was helping him take that next step in his coaching journey. As a past educator turned coach, I could totally see where he wanted to head. He told me all about his depression and struggles. He told me about his wife and kids. I was excited for him, his passion and what he wanted to achieve in this world. He was actually doing so many things already in the field of mental health and well being. He was leading the way......Al, you were a guiding light for all you did in the field of mental health and well being. My heart and thoughts are with your wife and kids.

Meeting in our Leadership Institute Cohort many years ago in Saint Paul Public Schools where we became friends. He was very kind and fun to have in that year long experience and beyond. He is greatly missed.

Al worked as my TOSA when I taught in St. Paul. He was warm and smiley and always supportive. I truly enjoyed getting visits from him! He was a cool guy and bright star. I'm so saddened, he will be missed by many. My thoughts of care and comfort are with his family and friends.

Watching his laughing and playing with my children (his cousins) back in the mid-1970's in Madison, Wisconsin, where the Levin family lived.

My kids have the best memories of Al. He made them feel seen, always greeting them if he saw them in the halls -- making jokes. That sense of belonging in school is important and I am grateful that he provided that for them. He also always took the time to talk to parents and I missed chatting with him once my kids moved to the upper campus. Keeping his family in our thoughts.

I worked with Al for seven years at Linwood Monroe / Global Arts Plus, and this picture is how I'll always remember him. My daughter Olive was principal for a day and he was so genuinely excited for her and really made her feel special, as he did with many of us on a daily basis. Al always had a smile on his face, a kind word of encouragement, he was always asking how he could help. He was incredibly kind and thoughtful and we are all better for having known him. Sending love to Jill and his family, may he rest in peace.

Al was the most amazing administrator at Global Art Plus. I always felt like he was listening to what I, as a parent had to say. I´m so sorry for your loss.

I am so incredibly grateful for the time our kids got to spend with Al when he "joined" our family Zoom call to test his new microphone. They got to experience the Al we've talked about for so long...loving, gentle, kind, funny with the biggest heart around. Jill & kids, our hearts are broken for your loss...for our loss as a community. xo

My heart is broken. I began working with Al bringing mindfulness and movement practices into the school for both staff and student mental health. As he moved schools he contacted me. We worked together for years as we connected deeply with our passion and commitment to raising awareness around mental health. We will continue Al's legacy to break down barriers and have mental health be a conversation at the dinner table, classroom, and community, and religious centers. Holding space for all of you as we mourn this deep loss. Kathy Flaminio

Al and I were in the same leadership cohort to become administrators in Saint Paul public schools. We instantly became friends and have been friends and colleagues since. That was at least 15 years ago. I have great memories of talking about our work but mostly sharing about our families. The love and stories he told of his family always warmed my heart. He was a wonderful person, very giving and inspiring. He will be missed by many. May he rest in peace and he will always be in our hearts. Fondly, Lisa Carrigan, SPPS Principal.

We worked together as school administrators, and I also taught with his wife Jill as co-teaching partners. Al always checked in with me as a person first and shared his authentic self with me so openly. Our SPPS administrator group was blessed to experience Al sharing his passion for reducing the stigma of depression and mental health disorders. My heart is hurting for Jill, their children, and his mom. I feel such deep sadness at Al's passing.

I remember when Mr Levin first started at my elementary and middle school, Linwood Monroe Arts Plus (now Global Arts Plus) and how whenever we would cross paths in the halls he was always just a really nice guy, even when I was struggling with going to class and getting into trouble he would still say hi to me and ask how my day was going. In recent years I have learned more about his mental health advocacy and I have recently started listening to his podcast. Very sad to hear of his passing and my deepest condolences to his family and friends.

I'll never forget, several years back, when Al stood in front of our entire SPPS leadership staff and shared his deeply personal journey. He received a lengthy and well-earned standing ovation! It was a courageous and inspiring message that left a lasting impact on me and many others. We all lost a good man, one of the best! My thoughts and prayers are with his family. Doug Revsbeck
