Alan Markowitz, a devoted husband, loving father, and adoring grandfather known affectionately as "Pop-Pop," passed away peacefully on June 28, 2025, surrounded by his cherished family. He was a man whose warmth, strength, and sense of humor touched all who knew him.
Alan is survived by his beloved wife of 25 years, Eileen, whose partnership brought him deep joy and unwavering support. He was the proud father of his daughter Amy and her husband Vinny Cantelmo, and a caring stepfather to Lynn and her husband Bill McEwan, and David and his wife Laura Personette. He is also lovingly remembered by his daughter-in-law Mary Jane Markowitz.
Family was the center of Alan's world, and his grandchildren-Alyssa, Ryan, Christopher, Mae Rose, William, Julia, Mason, Avery, and Lyla-were the light of his life. His bond with them as their "Pop-Pop" was filled with love, laughter, and countless treasured memories.
Alan is also survived by his cherished brother Robert and sister-in-law Leslie Markowitz, who shared a lifetime of memories and enduring sibling connection.
He is preceded in death by his beloved parents, Leo and Lillian Markowitz, and by his dear son, Paul Markowitz, whose memory remained ever-present in his heart.
Alan will be remembered for his devotion to family, his kind heart, and the wisdom and humor he generously shared. His legacy will live on in the lives of those he loved so deeply.
