Alan Timothy Mitchell

Alan Timothy Mitchell, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on January 14, 2026, at McLaren Port Huron Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. Born on October 7, 1960, in Port Huron, Michigan, Alan was the son of the late Alfred and Lila (Skinner) Mitchell.
Alan's heart was fullest when he was with his beloved wife, Shawn, whom he married on June 2, 1995. Together, they built a life rich in love and companionship.
He is survived by his loving wife Shawn; children, Kristen (Josh Carlson) Sharpe of Jeddo, Jeff (Jordan) Mitchell of Florida, Katherine (Tyler) Pittiglio of Fort Gratiot, Timothy (Kelian) Mitchell of Ira Township, and Megan (Dan) Pasko of Marine City; grandchildren, Evan, Addyson, Daniel, Eli, Bentley, Graham, Hadley, Karsyn, and Camden; brothers, Mark and Bob Mitchell; his cats, Max and Luna; as well as many brother and sisters-in-laws and nieces and nephews.
A man of many interests, Alan's passion for gardening surrounds his home. Music was the soundtrack of his life, and he could often be found singing his heart out during karaoke nights. Alan's love for making snacks and drinking coffee, having a snack, and more snacks, was well-known.
Alan's collection of sports jerseys was abundant. He enjoyed raising chickens embracing the simple pleasures of life. He loved summer and the opportunity it brought to be outside, whether gardening, enjoying bonfires, being in the sun, or you guessed it, having a snack.
His spirit will live on in the memories of the countless lives he touched. Alan's legacy is one of love, laughter, and the importance of cherishing the small moments that make life beautiful.
As we say goodbye to Alan Timothy Mitchell, we celebrate a life lived with purpose and joy. His laughter, his kindness, and his unwavering dedication to his family will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him. He has left us with a treasure trove of memories that will continue to inspire and comfort us in the days to come.
