Now I know! I've always been told that my sense of humor is just like dad's - kind of quick, dry, easily amused, funny, sometimes downright hilarious, clever, witty, charming, warped, goofball like and a teaser. Appropriate or inappropriate times, doesn't matter. You have to get up pretty early to pull one over on us. If we don't like you, we won't tease you...reading the comments, Alan's sense of humor sounds a lot like dad's sense of humor...humor is a gift. We are fortunate to have had Alan in our lives and now we have the memories so Alan can live on through the goofball stories...remember when? it just goes to show you, the nut doesn't fall from the tree.
Alan will be missed by many and especially by his family - Coni, his favorite son, his favorite daughter, his favorite... We were at a gathering once, I was talking with our Aunt Wilma; we were talking about how I was her favorite nephew. Alan came over and said the same thing to her; Wilma said no, pointed to me and said "he is". and a good laugh was had by all. Hopefully Corey or Jodi have inherited the humor (probably Corey ~no offense Jodi, you just don't have that smirk on your face to look like you're guilty). I loved it when Alan came to visit (before he was married) and I thought he was so cool. We'd walk up to a small café and we'd get something to drink (probably root beer). I know he loved his family more than anything. Alan was a good man. May he rest in peace now and forever. " Two peanuts walked into a bar, one was assaulted"

Howard was always thrilled to go out to the deer farm. Even when he didn't get a deer. It was always about the time spent with the guys. Ole will be missed.

So sorry to hear of your loss. Our prayers are with you Connie, Corey, and the whole Olson family. Ole was a mentor on how to be a good man and grandfather. We had many fun days hunting on the Manwarren farm, sharing stories, and learning what's important in life. Ole's humor and wisdom always shinned through. He's now sharing directly with his 'buddy' in heaven.

On trips to Wisconsin to meet with cousins there Alan was such a stitch with his stories growing up. He told stories and we laughed until my jaws ached. I have to say his sense of direction and the need to ask for directions weren't a part of his vocabulary and I mean that I am fun way. I finally got him to pull into a farm to ask for directions so we could get home by supper from a lunch in Wisconsin.
I loved listening to him talk about grandpa Bosackers farm and how he stayed at Marion and Butch's place but decided he would walk home one time. It was hysterical!
I commend him for his years of sobriety and his great marriage with Coni and his devotion to our maker.
Some parts of me thinks there is a heck of a Euchre game going on with his cousins and uncles.
I'm sorry to Coni and your family for your loss please know that we are thinking about you.

I've known Alan for a long time. I babysat his kids a few times when they were young. Most recently though I've waited on him for years at DQ when he'd come in for coffee and toast every morning and sit and have coffee with his friends for hours every day. He was a super good person. I have not worked at DQ for about 6-7 Years but never expected to check my facebook and see that he's gone! WOW! RIP ALAN!! You're a very good person, and in Heaven now where we all hope to go!!!
