Alan Wendt Obituary
Alan was born on October 18, 1957, in Fort Dodge, Iowa. He was raised in Des Moines, graduating from East High School in 1976.
He worked several jobs over the years including McDonalds, meat packing, car battery sales, roofing, dump truck driver, can & bottle redemption and finally working at the Des Moines International Airport as a parking lot maintenance worker and later a shuttle bus driver for SP+ Global Parking. He loved to work and planned to work another 4 to 5 years before being diagnosed with terminal cancer.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and riding motorcycles. Later in life he enjoyed playing cards and games with his family, especially Aggravation because he liked aggravating the other players.
Left to cherish his memory includes his brother Michael (Marjorie) Wendt of Des Moines, brother-in-law Jack (Sharon) Jackson of Des Moines, many nieces, nephews and friends.
Alan was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Henrietta Wendt, brothers Noel and Larry Wendt and sister Valerie Jackson.
A private graveside service will be held in Fort Dodge, Iowa at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the food bank.
