Alan West Obituary

Alan retired in 2013 from the City of Charleston, where he proudly served for many years as an auto mechanic. He had a natural talent for working with cars and spent much of his free time tinkering, fixing, and bringing engines back to life. He enjoyed using his hands, solving problems, and helping others with anything mechanical.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sharon West; and his parents, Dennis and Darlene West.
Alan is survived by his son, William "Buff" West; granddaughter Kayla "Katie" West-Nauman; sister Terri (Mike) Ferrell; and aunt Brenda Huff. He is also survived by lifelong friends Dreama Blankenship and Gene Angel, along with a host of extended family and friends who will remember him fondly.
At this time, there will be no service. A gathering to honor Alan's life will be held at a later date.
