Alaric Baker Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Cypress Lawn Funeral Home & Memorial Park on Dec. 12, 2023.
Alaric F. Baker, 98, of Pacifica, CA, passed away on 25 November 2023. He was born to parents Charles Benjamin Baker and Rosa Dela Cruz Baker, on 25 February 1925 in the Philippines. He enjoyed Golfing, traveling to the Philippines, going on walks with his wife Mary, and enjoying spending time with family. He loved our mother's cooking, especially her Kare Kare (Filipino stew oxtail soup with a rich thick peanut sauce and vegetables).
Alaric met Mary C. Baker in Davao City, Philippines. They were married on May 13, 1961, in Davao City, Philippines. Together they raised seven children: Benjamin, Joanne, David, Victor, Virginia, Martin, and Lewis. He leaves behind eight grandchildren, Joshua, Christy, Clint, Jilian, Jasmin, Jade, Hayley, Cameron (†), and four great grandchildren, Deven, Julian, Star, Francisco, and one great-great granddaughter Anastasia.
Our father has been our hero and has taught all his children important lessons in life, provided guidance and unwavering love and support. Our Pops was thoughtful and helpful to all our relatives, he will give the shirt off his back. He welcomed everyone into our home, both family and friends, and shared our food, stories, and a place to sleep in.
Our father was not a rich man, and he was not about material possessions or professional success. His true measure and achievement in life was how much loved, how much he gave, and how selflessly he shared whatever he could to help others. We are grateful and comforted knowing how much our beloved father positively affected the lives of families and friends.
We lost you Pops in body but not in spirit, we will miss you and love you forever.
"If we have forgotten to show our / Gratitude enough for all the things you did, / We're thanking you now. / And we are hoping you knew all along, / How much you meant to us." - Unknown
