Alayna Sarah Borowick, 23, died tragically on May 9, 2024. She was beautiful, vibrant, and determined, filled with joy and love for her family and friends.
Her parents, Rick and Cami, and big brothers, Hunter and Michael, welcomed her into the world on February 1, 2001, in Louisville, Kentucky.
Alayna's determination and competitive spirit were unmatched. Whether spending time with her family, cousins, and friends playing games, or trying out various sports, she always strived to be the best. Her relentless practice of perfecting her overhand serve in volleyball is a testament to her tenacity and fierce competitiveness, which also helped reawaken athletic support at Walden.
After graduating from the University of Kentucky, Alayna joined the family business, BG Sales, where her outgoing nature quickly found her career path. But her giving nature extended beyond her professional life. Alayna dedicated her time to Shirley's Way, making a significant impact on the lives of those in need.
Alayna leaves behind a loving family, including her parents, Rick and Cami, brothers Hunter and Michael, and grandmother, Hilda Miller. She was also a cherished niece to Kerry Borowick (Stacey) and Jodi Abend (Robert). Her cousins, Joshua Abend, Nicholas Abend, Aaron Abend, and Miranda Borowick, were her playmates and confidants. Along with many other aunts, uncles, and cousins. Her beloved cat, Ozzy, was a constant source of comfort. Alayna's wide circle of friends, who will miss her dearly, is a testament to her warm and vibrant personality.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Alvin and Linda Borowick.
To honor Alayna, memorial donations may be made to Shirley's Way www.alaynaborowick.org. May her memory be a blessing.
Visitation will begin at 12:00 pm on Tuesday, May 14th, at Keneseth Israel Congregation, 2531 Taylorsville Rd, Louisville, KY 40205, followed by the funeral services at 2:00 p.m. Burial will take place in Keneseth Israel Cemetery.

I only got to talk to her a handful of times years ago at a volleyball club, but I remember her being extremely kind, positive, and outgoing. My thoughts go out to family and loved ones. I didn´t know her very much but it didn´t take long to realize she was truly an amazing person.

I met Alayna in 2021 when she was working at Botany. She was always so sweet, friendly and outgoing. She had such an infectious energy and would bring a smile to everyone´s faces. She touched so many people´s lives at such a young age, gone way too soon. She will be missed by so many. My condolences and prayers go out to her family and friends.

Sweet Alayna was a spirit you only encounter once in a lifetime. I had the pleasure of meeting her years ago through Nick and Rachel. Alayna was the baby of our friend group who could always keep up and was so grounded for her young age. She was kind and adventurous and had a contagious smile. Her energy will be so greatly missed. She had a very observant nature and incredible way of expressing herself that I always appreciated. The last time I saw her after Nick and Rachel´s wedding, she told me she admired me for my solo move to AZ and couldn´t wait to come visit someday. She gave me the biggest hug before she left. I´ll never forget that. Now she can visit me whenever she wants and she even has the best angels-eye view of it all. It doesn´t feel like we got enough time with her, but I´m so grateful for the time we did have and for her influence on my life and the lives of so many others that I love. My heart is broken for all of her family and friends. I wish everyone who is hurting to find a bit of solace in the fact that her memory will live on forever. I feel so lucky to have known and loved her.

There are absolutely too many to count. All the way from playing volleyball with her to just hanging out at Walden and outside of school. I also will never forget when she picked me up from my house and then we went to get 32 degrees frozen yogurt. That was a fun day as well. Rest in peace Alayna.

She was a beautiful baby, and was truly loving and sweet. We went to DisneyLand and she rode her first rollercoaster with me. She thought she was going 10,000 miles and hour and she put her hands up and she wasn't afraid at all. Every Princess was her favorite...when her mom held her to watch the closing fireworks she was Amazed her eyes were so BIG. I was proud of everything she did, Proud of every accomplishment. Proud of the woman she was becoming. She was magical. She was my heart, and my love. I'm her Aunt but I strive to be more like her, she always made me laugh, always was running around having a good time. I will never not look for her face..she meant the world to me.

Alayna didn´t know a stranger. One of my favorite things about Alayna was how giving she was. When her and I lived together, every time she would go grocery shopping, she would show me what she got and say "have some of whatever you want!" I have little things all around my house that she gave me, because that´s just the type of person and friend she was. If Alayna went on a trip, she was bringing her loved ones a souvenir just to show you she was thinking of you. I have always loved how humble, and down to earth she was. She loved her family and friends so dearly. Alayna will be loved and missed by so many every day.

Alayna was my student at Walden School in my high school Spanish class. She was very dedicated and enthusiastic , leading our Spanish Club and organizing many cultural activities. She was brilliant, joyful, funny, caring, and kind. I will miss and remember her forever. I will keep her in my heart.

I had the pleasure of meeting Alayna when she was 6 or 7 years old, I remember being taken by her friendly eyes and big smile, sorta reminded me of my own Daughter at that age. It´s been a privilege for me to follow her growth and accomplishments through FB. Want to extend my sympathies to the Borowick family. Much Love, Mike Metcalf

I started working with her at Ksbar and she and i quickly became very good friends. We continued to stay in contact after leaving the restaurant hanging out in lexington, louisville, and creating memories going ti festivals together. She radiated love, acceptance, sunshine, and happiness everywhere she was. I will forever miss her. I got to see her before she passed and got to hug her and tell her that i loved her. I will forever be thankful for those memories and live for her. Love you so much girl Cant wait to dance with her again

Alayna and I met a few years ago at a ski trip. I remember Alayna´s infectious laugh and smile and her generous nature. Alayna and Taylor and myself also shared a bedroom the night before Nick and Rachel´s wedding. Alayna was so sweet and offered to sleep on the floor while Taylor and I slept in the bed. Just one example of Alayna´s generous spirit. I was so blessed to know Alayna through Nick and Rachel. She had the sweetest spirit of anyone I know. I will miss her laugh and her caring heart. My deepest condolences to the entire Borowick family. Alayna was a true blessing to us all.
