I went looking online for Mr. Leonardi; he´d been my summer school teacher in 85, and well, I´ll just say we had an eventful summer, and I´m certain he remembered me and all that transpired. I wanted to explain why I was the troubled kid I was then, but I guess I never got the chance. I´m sorry for that. I think he meant well, and I regret not seeking him out when I had the chance. Maybe in another life. RIP

Coach Leonardi approached me in the hall at Rummel and asked if I wanted to join the wrestling team, which was forming in its first year. I was short, overweight and lacking in self-confidence. I said "no," but the seed was planted and I joined the following year. Coach Leonardi's outreach and coaching literally changed my life for the better. May God rest his soul.

My condolences to your family. "Mr. Leonardi" was my math teacher at Rummel and he was one of the greatest teachers that I had the pleasure of knowing. He allowed me to fail, only to raise me back up and help me understand why I failed. This was one of the most valuable lessons to learn in life. He is an incredible human and will be missed.

AJ, I fondly remember our years in the math department at Archbishop Rummel HS. I still remember that Sunday morning coming out of mass at Our Lady of the Lake and hearing, "Hey, Dude" coming from behind me. That is when I learned you had also moved to Mandeville. You will be missed.

Just saw AJ and Margaret at Sams a couple months ago! Was so great to see him! He taught me Algebra in freshman year at Rummel, we remained friends, and hunted together for years, had a great friendship! We both shared the love of the woods hunting and fine weapons! Will miss AJ!
