Albert W Abear passed away into the arms of his savior on July 3, 2025, at his home. Al was born on July 21, 1945, to Benjamin Abear and Reba (Sisk) Abear.
He was a member of the Backus Nazarene Church where he taught Sunday school and was on the church board. He served in the US Army from 1964-1967, serving in both Korea and Vietnam. He was married to Donna Gard on August 30, 1964, and had been married for nearly 61 years. He worked for the US Postal Service retiring in 2001. He loved the Lord Jesus Christ with all his heart and did his best to serve Christ and be faithful in his Christian walk. He loved fishing, camping, dancing, playing cards with friends, and most of all being with his family. He was a member of the VFW in Jenkins where he was the Chaplain.
A true outdoorsman, he found peace in the wild — whether hunting deer, catching northern pike, or casting a line into still waters. He was never happier than when he was on a fishing boat with a grandchild by his side or gathered around a campfire swapping stories. He loved the simple joys: the tug of a fish on the line, the thrill of a hunt, a good hat with a feather, and the warmth of family.
He is survived by his wife Donna of Backus; son, Kip (Melissa) of Pine River; granddaughters, Abagale (Jace) Loge of Hackensack, Isabelle Abear of Eau Claire WI, and Savannah (Jesse) Zalka of Pequot Lakes.
He was preceded in death by son, Lonny; parents, Ben and Reba; brothers, Frank and Claren; and sister, Arlene
Memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 17th, at 11:00am with visitation one hour prior at the Backus Nazarene Church.
