Albert Chambers, 82, of Statenville, GA, passed away on Tuesday, March 4, 2025 at South Georgia Medical Center.
Albert Louis Chambers was born on April 12, 1942, in Valdosta, Georgia to William Redding Chambers, Sr. and Alice Mae Cherry, and he was one of nine children. Albert attended both Valdosta and Lowndes High Schools and played football during these years. He graduated from Lowndes High and followed in the footsteps of his father by becoming a Master Certified Mechanic. Albert was employed with Bosh Oldsmobile and Buick until his retirement. He also served in the Georgia National Guard from 1961- 1967.
Albert had a great sense of humor and is known for his funny antics. He married Annie Jo Henderson on July 1st, 1970, and later had a daughter Rebecca Jane on December 1st, 1978. After getting married, he made Statenville, Georgia his home. He enjoyed woodworking, working on classic cars, reading his Bible, watching sports and westerns, and most of all pending time with his family outdoors camping and fishing. His greatest joy was spending time with his little granddaughter Katherine Elizabeth.
Albert is preceded in death by his wife of 46 years Annie Jo Henderson Chambers, as well as his siblings. He is survived by his son-in-law William Copeland Parramore Jr, daughter Rebecca, granddaughter Katherine Elizabeth, as well as, a large extended family.
A graveside service will be held at 11am on Monday, March 10, 2025 at Statenville Cemetery with Rev. Jaime Register officiating. Online condolences may be shared at www.mclanefuneralservices.com.
