Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors - AmarilloAlbert “Chip” Logue Jr., of Amarillo, Texas, passed away on December 20, 2025, at the age of 81.
He was born on April 21, 1944, in Lawton, Oklahoma, to Albert and Ola B. Logue. Chip graduated high school in Cache, Oklahoma and joined the Army, becoming an E5 Sergeant, and received a Purple Heart after being wounded as a helicopter gunner in the Vietnam War. He later found a rewarding career with the VA as a Benefits Councelor helping other veterans. After retiring from the VA with 30 years of service, he would go on to drive the school bus for Canyon School District.
Chip shared many years of marriage with his beloved wife, Donita Logue, who loved him dearly. He was a proud father to daughters Becky Hall and her husband Eric, Jarie Potts, Kami Dindinger and her husband Jonathan, and Shanon Fortolis and her husband Andrew; as well as to his son Kory King and his wife Tawny. He also held close the memory of his son Lonnie Logue and son-in-law Jeff Potts.
He is remembered by his siblings: sister Lajuana Chism; sister Linda and her husband Ralph Turner; sister Janie and her husband Raymond Griffin; and brother Larry and his wife Julie. Chip was a loving Papa to thirteen grandchildren—Alaina, Tyler, Jason, Jonathan, Gavin, Nathan, Reese, Drew, Sofia, Ashton, Savana, Keagan, and Skylar, and five great-grandchildren— Charlie, Caroline, Delilah, J.J., and Peyton.
A Celebration of Life will be held on January 17, 2026, at 12:00 PM at South Georgia Baptist Church, 5209 S. Georgia Street. Please feel free to attend in casual attire. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors.
May Albert “Chip” Logue Jr.’s memory bring peace to those who knew him and remain a blessing for generations to come.
