Albert C. DeGiorgio, 94, of Ocala, passed away February 12, 2009 at Hospice’s Sylvia House. Born in New York City he came to this area in 1974 from East Quogue, NY. He was a retired Sergeant for the New York City Police Department, and a member of Our Lady of the Springs Catholic Church. He was also a member of the Patrolmens Benevolent Assoc., life member of the city of New York Columbia Assoc., the Knights of Columbus, the Rosary Society and the Ocala Garden Club. He is survived by his children, Carole Linguiti of Fort Lee, NJ, Carl DeGiorgio of Peachtree City, GA, Elizabeth Thorp of Apopka, FL, Albert DeGiorgio of Deltona, Fl and Vincent DeGiorgio of Mansfield, MA; grandchildren, Lisa Baumgarten, Laura Ericson, Damien DeGiorgio, Brian Shultz, Monica DeGiorgio and Matthew DeGiorgio; great grandchildren, Brittany and Amanda Baumgarten. He was preceded in death by his wife, Natalie DeGiorgio. Visitation will be held at ROBERTS FUNERAL HOMES, Bruce Chapel East (2739 SE Maricamp Rd. Ocala, 732-9944) on Sunday (February 15th) from 1-3 and 5-7PM with a prayer service at 6 PM. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday (February 16th) at 11AM. Entombment will follow at Good Shepherd Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Marion County PO Box 4850 Ocala, FL 34478.
