Albert L. "Bud" Derry

Rachel and family,

My deepest sympathy about the loss of Bud, a husband, father, grandfather, and friend to many. Certainly, he lives with us in memory and will for evermore.

I am so sorry I was unable to attend the funeral. It was a blessing that Rachel was able to attend and express our sadness and grief over the passing of her beloved grandfather.

May peace be with everyone in this time of sadness.

So sorry to hear about Uncle Bud. We wish we could be there for you on Friday, but know that we are thinking about you and praying for you all. I remember so well coming over to your house in Navarre and swinging on the tire swing and having Bud and our dad take all of us fishing in some channel of the lake out there.

I was saddened to hear of the passing of your father. Losing anyone is a very sad event in a persons life. When I lost my father some years back, I found comfort in knowing that we loved each other. While we never talked much (dad was never a talker like son), we were always there for each other as I know you have been. My family will keep you in their prayers.

We moved next door to Bud & Alice when we bought our first house in the early '80s. They were the kind of neighbors every young couple should be so lucky to know. They shared delicious fruits from their garden and space in their big freezer and showed us how solid families live together as neighbors. The Derry family set our standards for neighbors and we treasure our memories of the entire Derry family. Godspeed, Bud, and God bless, family.
