Albert Nedsim Eng
July 3, 1960 – July 2, 2025
Albert Nedsim Eng passed away on July 2, 2025, in San Antonio, Texas, just one day shy of his 65th birthday. He was born on July 3, 1960, in Laredo, Texas.
Albert proudly served his country in the United States Air Force as a Senior Airman and served time in Granada. This chapter of his life reflected his deep sense of duty and integrity. He carried that same commitment into everything he did, both in service and in civilian life.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Melida Melissa Eng, his cherished children, Joshua and daughter-in-law Elizabeth Xochitl, Marinna Eng and Lina Eng, and his 5 grandchildren, Eve Déjà-Noël Xochitl, Cian Seth Cúmhaíge Xochitl, Sage Micah Balthazar Xochitl, Catherine Isis Bianca Xochitl, and Emiliano Matías Palacios; His siblings Elizabeth Fedor, Mayline Hogan, Judy Candias, and Priscilla Eng; and brothers-in-law William Fedor and Raul Candias; and numerous nieces and nephews. Albert's legacy lives on in their strength, grace, and love.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert Len Him Eng and Hortencia Garcia Eng, and by his beloved brother Kenneth Lipmond Eng.
Albert will be remembered for his unwavering dedication to family, his quiet strength, and the deep kindness he showed to those around him.
Albert loved to sing; it was one of his favorite past times with his family. The first song he ever sang for his wife when they dated was Once, Twice, Three Times A Lady by the Commodores. He also enjoyed listening to country, classical, jazz, and Christmas music. He also enjoyed working on computers and creating programs.
Albert loved movies like Godzilla, Christmas movies, and Star Trek; TV shows like Charlie Chan, Religious documentaries, and anything on the Food Network. He also loved sports, spending most of his life supporting the Dallas Cowboys, until he finally came to his senses and switched to the Jacksonville Jaguars, he was also a Spurs fan.
He thrived on helping the community through the work he did with the State Representative; Albert participated in graffiti wipeouts, helped plant trees in parks, strung up Christmas lights at Travis Park in downtown San Antonio. In 2007, he was approached by the vice principal of Thomas Edison High School who asked for assistance in getting books for students, and within days Albert had those new texts delivered. Later he devoted his life to God and the Knights of Columbus at St. John Neumann, becoming their Grand Knight for two years straight and spent the remaining time being the District Deputy. He prospered in helping his community.
Albert also loved to cook for his family and for years every weekend was like a party. He would barbecue brisket, ribs, and chicken all seasoned with his deceased brother-in-law's "element X" seasoning concoction, and he made the best smothered pork chops.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 22, 2025 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. at Alamo Funeral Chapels (624 N Alamo St, San Antonio, TX 78215). Final Viewing will begin at 10:45 a.m. on Wednesday, July 23, 2025 at St John Neumann Catholic Church (6680 Crestway Dr, San Antonio, TX 78239) with a Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Committal Service with Military Honors will follow at 1:15 p.m. at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery SHELTER #2 (1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd, San Antonio, TX 78209).
Please note: There will be no funeral procession to the church or to the cemetery. All guests are asked to meet directly at the church and then at the cemetery.

Sweet Albert was my classmate at Fox Tech High School, and he played saxophone in our school band. He was very sweet and respectful. May perpetual light shine upon him and through the mercy of Christ, rest in eternal peace.

No words can express how I feel without you in our lives. You taught me about lessons in life but it wasn´t always serious. Anyone who knows you, knows you love to joke. All you magic tricks that are imbued in our memories.

Babysitting my cousins who are now woman are testimony of a great father you are. My Tio, I love you forever. - Melissa, Alejandro and Francisco

Albert was my first friend and mentor when I began working for the San Antonio City Council, and I will always be grateful for the example he set. His word was his bond-if Albert committed to something, you could count on it being done right. He led with quiet strength, kindness, and compassion, and treated everyone with respect and dignity. His presence made our work better and our days brighter. He will be deeply missed.
