Albert A. Forner of Cleveland, WI, passed away peacefully into God's hands this past Tuesday, September 24th, at the age of 80. Albert was born in Detroit, Michigan, on February 18, 1944. He is the third child of Albert and Karolina Forner. He graduated high school from Sacred Heart Seminary and college from Eastern Michigan with his master's degree in Education. After his marriage, he moved to Wisconsin, where he built his home and raised his family, remaining in Cleveland for most of his life. He is survived by his five children, six grandchildren and brother. He is preceded in death by his beautiful wife Vicki, son Albert, and sister Maria.
Albert, or "Al," was known to many in the parishes of St. Wendel and St. Thomas the Apostle as a devout Catholic and active within the church and his community. He dedicated much of his free time to jail visitations and did this regularly for many years. He developed close bonds with the inmates, who found a deeper sense of value and purpose with the attention he provided to their eventual reintegration into society. Al was also passionate about aviation and enjoyed flying small private and radio-controlled model planes. He was an avid attendant at the Oshkosh Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) Fly-In every year and an enthusiastic member of EAA Chapter 383 in
Manitowoc, Wisconsin, and EAA Chapter 766 in Sheboygan. Al's service to the community included participating in Cleveland's Village Board and as a parent leader with the Cleveland chapter of Boy Scouts. In addition, Al actively participated in the Knights of Columbus, which emulated many of the virtues he felt so passionate about. He would have highlighted his companionship with Jamie and his friendship with Jose and family, all of whom were very special to him late in life.
Thank you to Aurora Medical Center Sheboygan hospital staff for their care and support.
Services will be held at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Newton, WI, on Saturday, September 28th, to celebrate the life of Albert Anton Forner. The church doors will be open for public visitation from 9 am to 11 am, followed by a Mass and burial at 11 am.
