Albert Pedrosa Mendoza, Jr., affectionately known as Gandi, passed away on April 27, 2025, at the age of 79 in his hometown of Globe, Arizona. Born on February 2, 1946, Albert lived a life dedicated to hard work, family, and giving back to his community.
A proud veteran of the Marine Corps, Albert served his country honorably before embarking on a fulfilling career as a welder for Freeport McMoRan. His craftsmanship was not only a source of livelihood but also an expression of his creativity and dedication. Colleagues and friends will remember him not only for his skill but also for his generosity; he was a giving man who would help anyone in need, embodying a spirit of kindness that touched many lives.
Albert enjoyed a variety of hobbies that brought him joy. He cherished the great outdoors, often engaging in camping, hunting, and shooting. Family gatherings were especially dear to him, providing precious moments of connection and celebration. Additionally, he found solace and satisfaction in woodworking, creating meaningful pieces that his family will treasure for years to come.
Albert is survived by his devoted wife, Catherine, and his loving daughters, Monica and Celina. Albert is survived by his sister Rosemary (Mendoza) White and his brothers Andrew Mendoza and Eddie Mendoza (who both live in Globe). He leaves behind a legacy of love in the form of his seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, who will carry forward the lessons of compassion and strength he instilled in them.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Andrea Mendoza, whose memories live on through the lives he touched and the stories he shared.
Albert Pedrosa Mendoza, Jr. will be remembered as a man who lived fully, loved deeply, and gave generously, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the privilege to know him.
