I remember being a scared kid who had just moved 3000 miles from her home in High School. Mr. & Mrs. Joyce welcomed me like I´d always been around when I met Bobby. Thanks for the memories of days by the pool, Bobby having to go home for family dinners, and a safe space to be a teenager. I´m sending love to all who will miss Al. ~shel

I grew up knowing Al as my dad`s childhood friend, a man who was more like his brother.. and in my lifetime he became my friend, too... I used to call him and we would chat together about a million things, and laugh so hard, and I would feel encouraged and blessed when I hung up the phone.

When I was in my early 30s, I lived in Houston for years (while I had baby after baby!), and I recently found an old journal from that season where I wrote, "I called and spoke with Al Joyce today... I love him so much!, and in the midst of the difficult trials I am going through, I feel so blessed and encouraged after talking to Him!"

Al had a meekness, a gentleness, and a joy that can only come from God Himself, Whom I know he loved DEARLY. He and my own dad are so alike!

I pray I will have a front row seat when he and all the old gang are reunited in Heaven one day. . . singular men, all of them!

May the Lord bless those left behind...
If you cling to, love, and trust in Jesus like your dad/grandfather did, you will have learned the most important lesson that you could from this singular gentleman whom you adored.

And God bless and keep you, dearest Al, until we meet again.

Much Love & Many Prayers,
Jack & Jan Leonard´s daughter, Judee

Truly an unbelievable person. Al was probably the kindest, honest, happiest person I have ever known. He always had a smile on his face. I'll never forget my Saturday mornings working at Doyon's as a teenager. He would always call me "sunshine" or "Good morning, Sunshine" (clearly he could see I was NOT a morning person). He always knew how to make any bad day a good one. And he had such a kind heart. I will miss him dearly. My son, Wyatt, was lucky enough to meet him, and now has such a desire to be in the Air Force when he's older. He wears the hat Al gave him almost daily. To Al's family, I'm so sorry for your loss. He was such an amazing person. I'll never forget him and may his memory live on forever.
