Albert Kokoth Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Bosak Funeral Home - Stamford on Mar. 2, 2026.
Albert Andrew Kokoth, 82, passed away peacefully on February 21, 2026, after a long and courageous battle with Huntington's disease.

Born on January 30, 1944, in New York, NY to Margaret and Andrew Kokoth, Albert lived a life defined by dedication, ingenuity, and deep love for his family. He built a distinguished career as an engineer in the aerospace industry, contributing his talents to companies including Sikorsky Aircraft and Grumman. Among his proudest professional achievements was working as a tool designer on Apollo 11, where he had the unforgettable opportunity to meet Neil Armstrong. His work helped shape a remarkable era of innovation and exploration.

Though his professional accomplishments were significant, Albert's greatest pride and joy was his family. A kind and gentle man, he devoted himself wholeheartedly to those he loved. He could always be found behind a video camera, faithfully recording his daughters' activities - from graduations and skating recitals to competitions, church events, and family celebrations. Because of him, countless cherished memories were preserved.

Albert found happiness in working with his hands. He enjoyed home improvement projects, gardening, working on cars, and had a lifelong fascination with trains, automobiles, and airplanes. His curiosity and appreciation for how things worked reflected both his engineer's mind and his youthful sense of wonder.

He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Margaret, and his brother, Ernest. He is survived by his sister, Margaret Dadabo; many nieces and nephews, his loving daughters, Jennifer (Scott Jones) and Mary (Timothy Montague); and his four cherished grandchildren, who will carry forward his legacy of kindness, dedication, and quiet strength.

Albert's life was one of steady love, thoughtful craftsmanship, and unwavering devotion to family. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew him.

"But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord." Joshua 24:15.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm on Thursday, March 5th, at Bosak Funeral Home, 453 Shippan Avenue, Stamford, CT. A prayer service will follow at 12:00 pm at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Huntington's Disease Society.
