Albert "Jim" Nash passed away on January 9, 2026, after a prolonged illness. Born October 30, 1952, in Lincoln, ME, Jim lived most of his life in Wallingford, CT. He was the son of the late Merle R. Nash and Grace (Kilbride) Nash, and was predeceased by his twin brother, Alfred "Tim" Nash.
Always the life of the party, Jim loved dancing to Motown music, Huey Lewis and the News, and Bob Seger. An avid outdoorsman and longtime member of the Meriden Rod and Gun Club, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, canoeing, and cultivating an abundant vegetable garden that kept neighbors well supplied.
For more than 20 years, Jim worked for Wren Business Communications, installing and maintaining telephone systems. He took pride in his work and the relationships he built, many of which lasted beyond his early retirement in 2008.
Jim raised his two children, Stephanie Nash of North Haven, CT, and James Nash of Lakeland, FL, largely on his own. A devoted single parent, he modeled hard work, loyalty, and the importance of having fun along the way. His greatest pride was being "Grampy" to his five grandchildren: Cooper and Emma Blanchette and Jacob, Ainsley, and Annalise Nash.
He is also survived by his siblings, Ralph and Fred Nash, Gail Kokoszka, and Francine Marotta, and was predeceased by his sisters, Bernardine Szawerda and Edith Nash.
Jim will be remembered for always showing up for the people he loved, whether to lend a hand, offer support, or lighten the moment with one of his off-color jokes. He will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and the care providers at Regency House of Wallingford, whom the family thanks for their compassionate and dedicated care.
Jim's family will receive relatives and friends at the Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 N. Main St Ext., Wallingford, on Wednesday, January 14th, from 9:00am-11:00am.
