Albert 'Abb' Carl Neely, 94, of Mt. Morris, PA, passed away on Thursday, February 5, 2026. He was born January 20, 1932, a son of the late Guy Leslie and Maggie Olive Neely.
Abb was born and raised in Core, WV (Pedlar Run) as the 11th of 12 children. He was a bricklayer by trade, having a hand in many landmark buildings around Morgantown, as well as friends' homes. He put his heart into his skill just as he put his heart into everything he did. He loved his garden, hunting at the cabin, and spending time helping the community through the Lion's Club and the Mt. Morris Fire Department, where he served for over 40 years.
A good natured, gentle man, Abb found great pleasure in family and friends. He enjoyed going to NASCAR events, football games, hymn sings, and all of his grandkids' events. He was a loyal WVU, Steeler, and Pirates fan, and spent many hours playing all kinds of cards. He was a U.S. Army veteran, having been stationed in Ft. Bragg, NC and he was member of Dolls Run Church, and also attended Mt. Morris United Methodist Church.
Abb is survived by two sons and their families David Neely and wife Mary of Morgantown, Daniel Neely and wife Barbara of Core; grandchildren Braden Neely (Halley), Meg Watson (Josh), Braelynn Neely (Corey), and Grace Neely; great-grandchildren Maebry and Kasen Neely, and countless nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, Bonnie Jean Neely, his beloved childhood sweetheart whom he met in elementary school; his eleven siblings Leslie, Millard, Olive, Pauline, Irene, Grace, Kenneth, Howard, Gene, Dale, and Joan; and his loving sister-in-law Betty Owen, and her husband Bob.
Family and friends are invited to gather at Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home on Monday, February 9, 2026, from 6pm - 8pm, with a firefighter's service beginning at 7:30pm, and on Tuesday from 10am until the time of the funeral service at 11am. Following the funeral service, Abb will be laid to rest beside his beloved wife, Bonnie, at Cedar Grove Cemetery in Mt Morris.
