Albert A. Post, M.D. passed away peacefully on Monday, March 23, 2026, in Pensacola, FL. Born on November 4, 1939, in Plymouth, MA, Al lived a life of service and kindness to others. He was a loving husband of over 51 years to Claudia, whom he adored, and a father of five children, of whom he was always so proud.

Al pursued his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Illinois in Urbana in 1962, followed by his medical degree from the University of Illinois in Chicago in 1965. He completed his internship at Tripler Army General Hospital in Honolulu, HI, and went on to earn a Master of Science degree in Radiation Biology, Biophysics, and Radiological Health from the University of Rochester in 1967. He furthered his training through a Nuclear Medicine Fellowship at the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research in Washington, D.C., where he also completed his Radiology residency and continued his work serving his country in the United States Army.

For decades, Al was a cornerstone of medical care in Pensacola, FL. He joined Sacred Heart Hospital as a Radiologist in 1975 and served the institution and community until his retirement in 2010. During his tenure, he served as Chairman of the Department of Radiology (1982–1988 and 1994–1995), President of the Medical Staff (1992–1994), and later added qualifications as a Pediatric Radiologist, serving countless children under his care. He was known to wear colorful, animated ties to make the children feel more comfortable in his presence. He had an ease about him that brought light and love to everyone he encountered.

Coming from humble beginnings, Al devoted his life to ensuring that his children had every opportunity to grow and thrive. In retirement he found great joy in traveling, caring for and doting on his wife, and taking immense pride in the accomplishments of his twelve grandchildren. His family was truly his pride and joy. Al was known for his humility, compassionate spirit, and kindness towards others, as well as his deep love and devotion to those closest to him. He was always eager to help others, no matter the task, he chose peace over conflict, and he carried himself with a gentle spirit. His legacy lives on in the many lives he touched and in the love he so freely gave.

Al is preceded in death by his parents, Ernest Post and Josephine Lagaccia; sisters, Marie Schulz and Sister Sylvia Post OSF.

Al is survived by his beloved wife, Claudia Post and sister, Judy Baker. He is also survived by his son, Robert Post (Margarita), son, James Post (Robyn), son, Albert Post, Jr., son, Chad Post (Rashel), and daughter, Claudine Feig (Daniel).
