Albert Kenneth Rice, known to friends as Ken and to his family as Little Albert, passed away on January 10, 2026, at 3:14 p.m., at the age of 42.
Ken was born on November 18, 1983, in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and was most recently of Prescott, Ontario, formerly of Brockville, Ontario.
Ken was a kind, loving, generous, and hardworking man who always put others before himself. He never judged anyone and was always ready to listen, to help, or to give whatever he could to someone in need. He had friends from all walks of life, and if Ken called you a friend, you knew you were truly special to him.
Ken’s biggest interest has always been his gaming systems and games, with Mario stealing his heart as a child. He was Nintendo’s biggest fan! He also had a deep love for music and an eclectic taste across many genres, with Korn forever holding the top spot. He was interested in photography, he loved taking shots of the landscapes he saw on his travels as a truck driver for Kriska transportation, his second family for over 8 years, a job which he loved and felt proud of,
and of course he took a wicked selfie!
He had been trying to learn guitar and always loved discovering new ways to express himself. He was known for his sharp wit and dark sense of humour, which could sometimes be a little shocking — but almost always ended in laughter and was part of what made him unmistakably Ken.
Above all else, Ken lived for his role as a father. He is lovingly remembered and terribly missed by his daughter, Aubrey Charlotte, who was the absolute center of his world. She was his greatest joy, his deepest love, and the reason he kept going. Everything he did, he did for her. I wish he could have seen how amazing he was through the eyes of those who loved him.
Ken was predeceased by his sweet baby girl Tessa-Lynn, is survived by his precious daughter Aubrey Charlotte and his parents, Albert and Darlene Rice of Halifax, Nova Scotia as well as his sisters, Charlotte and Sarah and their families.
He is also remembered by three wonderful children who held a very special place in his heart, and by those friends who were part of his life and journey over the years.
Ken will be remembered for his generosity, his loyalty, his music, his wicked sense of humour, and for the fierce love he had for his daughter. He will be deeply missed
A private service will be held at a future date, not yet determined.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Albert Kenneth Rice to The Salvation Army – Brockville Corps, supporting people struggling with addictions and homelessness.
