Al was a wonderful human being. I worked with him for years, and always looked forward to talking with him. He was funny, wise, smiling and tried to be good person. He was a gem, and I so missed him when he left Sacred Heart. He will be missed. May he rest in peace.

Good olé Al...I can clearly hear his laughter at work, and visualize his huge salami and cheddar sub sandwiches he would eat for lunch often, and he always had a root beer to wash it down. Al had an old certs tin filled with his Nicorette gum, that had a rubber band around it he would pull out of his pocket after he ate his lunch at work. What a great guy he was. He sure made an impact in this world with all of his accomplishments in his life. I always loved having good conversations with him in the break room at Sacred Heart. He will be missed by so many. May God bless you, Al.

I had the pleasure of working with Al at Sacred Heart in the mid-1980s, and he was Always the most pleasant person, with a ready smile, a jolly laugh, and a gracious nature.
He also had values, - something the world & society so needs today, - and when he believed in a person, or cause, he would stand up for them, - as he for many, many patients, and all the staff, when he was representing them in union-talks, - which could be quite tense, at times.
Every staff who had known Al, was sad when he retired and moved away to Virginia.
There were many good decent people who worked at Sacred Heart´s Adult Psych Unit, - but Al, - well, he put the "heart" in the place. He was the real deal!
May Al always walk in the stars of Heaven; and may his family know: You were blessed; and even at work, he was with you: in his "heart." (There was room for everyone there.)

The best of times at Sacred Heart. I appreciated his integrity and compassion.
