Vaillant, Dr. Albert, "Sonny", 91, of Woodbury passed away November 13, 2022. Reunited in Heaven with his beloved wife, AnnaMae, parents, Juan and Rose and sister, Anita DeLisa. Adored and loving father of Janice Lovisi (John). Cherished "Grandpa Sonny" of Tiffany Combs (Ronnie) and Joseph (Bridget) and great-grandfather of Haddie, Ellie, Maisie and Lina. Proud Korean War Army Veteran. Albert was selfless, giving, loving, knowledgeable and many described him as an "angel". He would do anything for anyone in need, no questions asked. He was extremely dedicated to his family and did whatever he could for them. Albert was extremely motivated to move out of Brooklyn to get an education. He started his journey at Brooklyn Tech where he received a scholarship to Cooper Union College for his hard work. Albert completed his education at Columbia University where he received his masters and PHD in Pure Science and Philosophy. While he was in school, he did whatever he could to help provide for his family, even becoming a professional boxer in his early twenties. Albert always did everything to the best of his ability, never giving less than 110%. He always strived to be the best version of himself and instilled that mentality onto his daughter. He loved animals, flowers, dancing, reading, and learning. Sonny enjoyed passing on his knowledge to anyone who had a listening ear. Albert was a blessing to anyone who had the pleasure of meeting him and will be deeply missed. The family will receive visitors Wednesday, November 16th, 6-9 pm at Arthur F. White Funeral Home, Inc., 234 Broadway, Bethpage. Funeral Mass Thursday, November 17th, 10 am at St. Martin of Tours RC Church. Cremation Private. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Albert's memory to The Dementia Society of America; dementiasociety.org.
