Albert Wright Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Nov. 29, 2013.
COLUMBIA - Tee Wright passed away on Friday, November 29, 2013, at The Presbyterian Communities of S.C. in Columbia, S.C. Born in Union, S.C. on January 22, 1925, Tee resided in S.C. all his life. He was a veteran of the United States Army and saw combat in the Pacific Theater from 1943 till the end of the war. Upon completion of his studies at the University of South Carolina, Tee began his career at Southern Bell Telephone Company where he worked 34 years until his retirement in 1984. Tee's work gave him the opportunity to live in and actively serve the South Carolina communities of Greenville, Florence and Columbia. In each of these cities Tee was a member of a myriad of civic organizations and clubs including board membership on the Boy Scouts of America and the Salvation Army. Tee was a man of deep Christian faith and served several Presbyterian Churches as a deacon and elder. He and his wife, Bobbie, were also quite active in the "Lay Renewal Movement" during their years as members of the First Presbyterian Church of Florence, S.C. On September 23 of this year, Tee lost his wife of 63 years. All those aware of Bobbie and Tee's deep and abiding love for each other felt that when Bobbie died, Tee would not be far behind. The family has found matchless peace in these past few weeks knowing that the unwavering faith Tee and Bobbie shared in the hope of glory has now moved from faith to sight for both of them. Tee is survived by a son, Mel Wright; three daughters, Babs DeCamps and twins, Janice Wilson and Joyce Wright; five grandchildren, Katie and Sally Wright, Noah and Nathan DeCamps and Wright Wilson. A graveside service will be held in Elmwood Cemetery at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 3, 2013. Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel is assisting the family. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial gifts be made to First Presbyterian Church, 1324 Marion Street Columbia, SC 29201 or the Presbyterian Communities of SC, 700 DeVega Drive, Lexington SC 29073.
