Alberto G. Rodriguez

Alberto G. Rodriguez, 84, a beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather passed away peacefully on March 5, 2026 in San Antonio, TX surrounded by his children. Born on April 7, 1941 in Los Fresnos, TX to Bruno and Cayetana Rodriguez, he was a hardworking man who worked in construction until his health conditions forced him to retire. He was an outdoorsman and when he wasn't working, he spent his time hunting or fishing then developed a joy of gardening and woodwork after retirement. He enjoyed gambling and spending time with his loved ones.

Alberto loved life and lived it to the fullest. He always had a contagious smile that radiated to those around him. His positive attitude toward everything life put in his path was a precious gift which shaped our lives. He will forever remain a pillar of strength for our family, and his inspiration and warm and loving presence will be deeply missed. Our loving father is survived by his common law wife, Velia Gamez, his children, Anthony Rodriguez (Diana), Diana Saldaña (Samuel), Alberto Rodriguez, Jr. (Bertha), Dora Rodriguez (Heron), Rudy Sloss, Helen De La Cruz Ralph), Nancy Lewis (Curtis), Yolanda Gamez, Jessica Gamez, Jesus "JJ" Gamez, Ivann Martinez, sisters, Rosa Leal and Estela Holloman, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bruno and Cayetana Rodriguez, bothers, Sebastian Rodriguez, Catarino Rodriguez, and Bruno Rodriguez, sisters, Francisca R. Johnson and Juana Tober, and his wife, Ydolina Rodriguez.

Visitation and Funeral Services will be as follows:

Visitation from 4:00pm – 8:00pm with a rosary at 6:00pm on Wednesday, March 18, 2026 at M.E. Rodriguez Funeral Home located at 511 Guadalupe St, San Antonio, TX 78207

Mass will be held at 10:00am on Thursday, March 19, 2026 at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church located at 1918 Palo Alto Rd, San Antonio, TX 78211 with Funeral procession immediately after to San Fernando Cemetery II located at 746 Castroville Rd, San Antonio, TX 78237.
