Alderson Clark Jr.

Alderson Clark, Jr., age 93, passed away peacefully at home on November 9, 2025.
He was born October 28, 1932, in Macon County, Tennessee, to the late Alderson Clark, Sr., and the late Willie Mae Donoho Clark. Alderson was raised in Russellville, Kentucky and spent most of his life in Bowling Green, Kentucky.
Alderson graduated from Russellville High School, where he was an athlete in both football and basketball. He attended Western Kentucky University before proudly serving his country as a paratrooper in the U.S. Army's 82nd Airborne Division. After his military service, he returned to Western to complete his master's degree in education and administration. He was a member of First Christian Church.
His career in education began at Potter Gray Elementary as a teacher and basketball coach. He later served as principal of Parker-Bennett Elementary School from 1962 to 1988. Under his leadership, Parker-Bennett became the first integrated school in Warren County.
Alderson was also Warren County's first Head Start Director, a member of the Human Rights Commission, and an active member of Phi Delta Kappa. His passion for the outdoors led him to become a charter member of Ray Scott's Bass Society, and he proudly participated in the very first national professional bass tournament.
He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Treva Clark, two daughters, Jackie and Joy (Terry); sister, Linda; three grandchildren, Shea, Samuel and William and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he is also preceded in death by his brother, Douglas Clark.
The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to his caregivers, the "Being Active Over 50" program, the Go-Bus, and The Medical Center Home Health for their compassionate support.
The family has entrusted J.C. Kirby and Son Lovers Lane Chapel with arrangements.
Funeral services are scheduled to be conducted on Thursday, November 13, 2025, at 11:00am at the funeral home with military honors. Burial will follow the service in Quality Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Quality, Kentucky.
Visitation will begin Thursday at 9:00am until time of service at 11:00am.
