In Loving Memory of Alridge Errol Curtis Dilbert ("Allie")
Alridge Errol Curtis Dilbert, affectionately known as Allie, was born on April 12, 1957, in West Bay, Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands, to William Joseph Dilbert (also known as Lawrence Dilbert) and Veta Dilbert. He was the fifth child born to his mother and father.
Allie attended the West Bay All Age Government School and later the Government Middle School. As a young child, he suffered from measles, which caused complications that made learning difficult. Despite these challenges, Allie showed remarkable strength and determination. Unable to continue his formal education, he began working alongside his father on his truck, where he developed many practical skills.
From a very young age, Allie learned to drive. While working on the dock, he mastered operating the dock crane-something that amazed many dock workers who admired how skillfully such a young boy handled the heavy equipment. He also developed a natural talent for repairing motor vehicles, becoming a gifted mechanic despite the obstacles he faced. Friends in Grand Cayman fondly remembered how exceptionally well he rode a motorbike.
In his early twenties, Allie moved to the United States, where he remained until his passing. Upon arriving in America, he worked for Joeris Construction Company, contributing to the building of schools. He later settled in San Antonio, where he continued his passion for mechanics, servicing many vehicles in his community. Allie was known for being full of life and making the most of what he had. He was hardworking, generous, and deeply loved by those around him.
Above all, Allie was an amazing father and a proud grandfather and great-grandfather who loved his family dearly.
He leaves to cherish his memory his daughters, Presheda Rector Dilbert and Sonya Hercule; his sons, Steven Dilbert, Doeland Dilbert, and James Obi.
His cherished grandchildren are:
Alexis Dilbert, Ebonee Dilbert, Zeric Thompson-Dilbert, Steven Thompson-Dilbert, Michael Thompson-Dilbert, Skylar Thompson-Dilbert, Alphonse Kelley, Quinton Petrie, Aliyah Gomez, and Empress McKnight.
His great-grandchildren are:
Jazir Guidry-Dilbert and Malik Dilbert.
In the Cayman Islands, he is lovingly remembered by his sisters, Ezmie, Aileen (Melo), and Dierdre (Vicki); and his brothers, Michael and Virgil.
He is also lovingly remembered by his niece, Crissa Rivers, and his nephew, Gary Fernando Hendricks Dominguez.
He was predeceased by his parents, William Joseph Dilbert (Lawrence) and Veta Dilbert; his sister, Reba; and his grandmother, Maggie.
"Daddy, you were a hero in my eyes, and I will forever miss you. I love you."
