Aleksandra Pecak

COHOES Aleksandra Pecak, 84, entered into eternal life Sunday, Sept. 14, 2025 at her home with her loving husband and sons by her side.
Born in Zyznow, Poland, she was the daughter of the late Jozef and Ludwika Barlik. She was educated in Poland and immigrated to this country in November of 1973. She and her husband, Tadeusz settled in Cohoes where they raised their family and have resided until present day.
Aleksandra worked for many years at the former Swanknit Co. located in the Harmony Mills in Cohoes until her retirement. Her faith always played an important role in her life and she was a devout member of St. Michael's Church in Cohoes. She belonged to the Ladies Rosary Society as well as St. Michael's Church Choir.
She was known for her green thumb and took great pride in her vegetable garden and the beautiful flowers that always surrounded her home. She also was a gifted cook who made many traditional Polish delicacies, especially her delicious pierogies.
Aleksandra is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Tadeusz Pecak; by her beloved sons, Steven Pecak of Colonie and Andrew Pecak and his wife Tracey of Loudonville; by her adored grandson, Andrew William Pecak; by her brother, Tadeusz Barlik as well as several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 9:15 a.m. from the Fitzgerald Funeral Home, 105 Vliet Blvd., Cohoes and at 10 a.m. in St. Michael's Church, Cohoes. Interment will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery, Waterford.
Relatives and friends may visit at the funeral home Thursday from 4-6 p.m.
